Privacy Policy — Rail Live Schedule

This Privacy Policy describes how Rail Live Schedule (“the App”, “we”, “our”) handles information when you use the App on your iOS device.

1. Summary

Rail Live Schedule does not collect, store, or share any personal information. The App is a read-only utility that retrieves live UK train departure information on your behalf.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

Your name, email address, or any account information
Your device identifier, advertising ID, or IP address
Your location
Usage analytics or crash reports
Any personal or identifying information of any kind

3. How the App Works

When you request departure information, the App sends a query to the Rail Data UK API (api1.raildata.org.uk) on your behalf. This query contains only:

The departure station CRS code (e.g. MAN for Manchester Piccadilly)
The destination station CRS code, if you have selected one (optional)
Query parameters such as time window and number of rows

These are standard National Rail station codes. They identify a station, not a person. No information that could identify you or your device is included in the request.

The developer does not operate, control, or have access to the Rail Data UK API servers. Please refer to the Rail Data UK privacy policy for information on how they handle API requests.

4. Data Storage on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device only, using iOS UserDefaults:

Your selected station preferences and saved presets
App settings such as time window, time offset, and auto-refresh preference

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to the developer. It can be deleted at any time by deleting the App.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the Rail Data UK API to retrieve live departure board data sourced from National Rail. This is the only external service the App communicates with. The App does not use any advertising networks, analytics services, or tracking SDKs.

6. Children’s Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be made available at the same URL. The date at the top of this document will be updated accordingly.
